About Yoga Trapeze
Story
Inversion devices have been used for decades. Yogis hanging up side down from ropes attached to trees thousand of years ago. The late Yoga Master Iyengar popularised and systematised the practice with Yoga props including inversion slings in his studio in India. The Yoga Trapeze, which we use today in our classes, became known in Europe in the beginning of the 21th century.
Jördis Schneider, the founder of Yoga Trapeze Mallorca & certified Yoga Trapeze Teacher, brought Yoga Trapeze to Mallorca at a time that we all will probably never forget, in the beginning of 2020. Jördis took this time as a new beginning and saw the need for human`s health to this particularly helpful prop, the Yoga Trapeze.

How is the Yoga Trapeze different from traditional mat yoga?
Yoga in general is extremely comprehensive. It creates balance and improves overall health. But there are things which are difficult to generate and clearly missing in a mat-based Yoga class. It`s the functional movement of pulling and rowing as the benefits of free hanging in inversion and the passive nature of possibilities of poses. Pulling and rowing builds grip and wrist strength, demands a great deal of upper body & core strength, improves alignment and promotes back & neck health. Hanging upside-down takes all the weight, physically and mentally, from your lower back, shoulders and neck. The spinal traction in inversion increases space between lower vertebrae and helps you to release all tension. Yoga Trapeze gives you the opportunity to practice passive backbends in a way that you can empower your abilities of flexibility and you achieve seemingly unattainable goals. The sensation of floating in air let you feel free, helps you to disconnect from everything and creates an impression of happiness.

I am Marta, since ever sport is an important part of my life and yoga trapeze was love at first sight. Bringing this practice into my life meant much more than doing exercises, since it gives shape not only to your body but to your personality. The idea of transmit this feeling to others inspired me so much that I decided to turn my passion into something greater and I became a teacher. I look forward bringing our energy together and enjoy workouts where strength, flexibility and both physical and mental well-being come together.
